Romance is in the air because the most romantic time of the year is nearly here. If you’re planning a date in Tampa Bay, we highly recommend a picnic for you and your beau. The cooler temperatures and bright sunshine make a perfect duo for picnics outdoors. Here a few of our favorite Tampa Bay picnic spots:

Vinoy Park

Who doesn’t love a picnic with gorgeous waterfront views? Vinoy Park is a spectacular picnic destination thanks to its 11.6 acres of open, manicured grounds and breathtaking views of Tampa and St. Pete’s skylines. If you and your beau take a seat near the sea wall, you may see a few friendly visitors like bottlenose dolphins or pelicans.

Gizella Kopsick Palm Arboretum

Hello, tropical paradise. The Gizella Kopsick Palm Arboretum is near Vinoy Park and filled with more than 500 palms and cycads across two acres. Talk about unforgettable scenery for Insta-worthy pics. Best of all, parking and admission are free.

Sunken Gardens

The 100-year-old Sunken Gardens are a historic gem located in the heart of St. Petersburg. As you wander through the paths together hand-in-hand, take notice of more than 50,000 tropical plants and flowers that call the Sunken Gardens home. Then take your seat at one of the picnic tables and enjoy the serene atmosphere round you.

Pass-A-Grille Beach

Head over to Pass-A-Grille Beach and soak up the beautiful sunset (or sunrise for early risers) as you enjoy your meal. Best of all, Pass-A-Grille Beach is close to locally-owned restaurants and eclectic shops in the Historic Districts.

Family Park At The St. Pete Pier

The St. Pete Pier has something for everyone, including an eco-friendly area that is perfect for picnics. There’s plenty of shade, seating and beautiful flowers, not to mention picturesque views facing toward Vinoy Park. If you don’t want to pack a meal, visit Driftwood Cafe on the Pier for gourmet sandwiches, hearty salads, mouth-watering pastries, specialty drinks and more!
